CIPSIP

CIP/SIP Systems for Industrial Biosolutions

Bühler CIP (Cleaning-in-Place) and SIP (Sterilization-in-Place) systems ensure repeatable, validated cleaning and sterilization of vessels, bioreactors, and process lines. From compact mobile skids for pilot kitchens and application centers to fully integrated CIP/SIP utilities in large industrial plants, our solutions are designed for fast changeovers, high uptime, and reduced manual work in food, feed, and industrial biotech.

Key benefits

Consistent, validated cleaning

Automated, recipe-driven CIP/SIP cycles provide repeatable results and support regulatory and customer audits.

Higher uptime, faster changeovers

Short, optimized cleaning sequences reduce downtime and operator intervention, keeping your lines productive.

Hygienic by design

Sanitary piping, spray devices, and tank design ensure coverage, drainability, and minimal dead legs.

Highlight features

Automated CIP cycles

Tailored cleaning recipes for every line

Bühler CIP systems run fully automated cleaning sequences with configurable steps such as pre-rinse, caustic wash, acid wash, intermediate rinses, and final sanitization. Flow, temperature, conductivity, and contact times are controlled and monitored for each cycle. Recipe management lets you create dedicated programs for different products or hygiene classes, from standard cleaning to high-hygiene applications.

Integrated SIP for sterile environments

Controlled steam sterilization of vessels and piping

Our SIP solutions provide controlled steam sterilization of bioreactors, fermenters, and associated piping. Temperature and pressure are precisely managed to reach the required sterilization conditions while protecting gaskets, instruments, and automation hardware. Integrated condensate removal and steam trapping concepts ensure reliable sterilization even in complex piping networks.

Hygienic engineering and smart layout

Optimized coverage, drainability, and accessibility

CIP/SIP units and distribution manifolds are engineered according to hygienic design principles. Spray balls or rotating spray devices are positioned to reach all internal surfaces. Piping is sloped for full drainability and dead-leg lengths are minimized. Skid-based or central CIP solutions can be arranged to serve multiple production lines, reducing footprint and simplifying maintenance.
