Both products are naturally palatable, highly digestible and have demonstrated benefits for the growth and health of animals. Either formulated in dry or wet products, insects are a sustainable food source that combine high palatability with easy digestibility. Since insect protein is a new ingredient in pet food, it is a suitable option for animals with common-food related allergies.
Due to their functional properties, insect ingredients can be formulated in piglet feed. Five percent protein inclusion has shown an improved feed conversion rate while ten percent inclusion of lipids is beneficial for piglets that suffer from digestive problems.
