Mark Macus voted a Swiss CFO of the Year

Mark Macus was recognized as CFO of the Year in the category “CFO Forum Switzerland”. Alongside Mark Macus, Tom Hallam from Givaudan received the award in the category “Swiss Market Index Expanded” (SMI Expanded), and Yvan Cardenas, CFO of the online bank Swissquote, in the category “Swiss Performance Index” (SPI without SMI Expanded).

The 2024 jury for the CFO of the Year Awards was comprised of 12 representatives from Swiss banks, auditing and consulting firms, boards of directors, financial publications, and universities. When assessing the candidates, the jury was guided by the criteria of character, professional competence, special achievements, familiarity with the company's business, and reputation among analysts/investors.

Mark Macus has been Bühler’s CFO since 2019. Prior to that, he was CEO of Vitra and has held management positions at Bühler, Holcim, and KPMG. “Being recognized as one of the CFOs of the Year is a tremendous honor. Leading Finance at Bühler has been both a privilege and a positive challenge. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Bühler’s global Finance community and teams,” said Mark Macus.

The CFO Forum Switzerland was founded in 2006 with the purpose of contributing to the further professionalization of financial management. The association represents the interests of its members, which consist of CFOs as well as individuals who are closely connected to the CFO profession. The Forum offers a platform from which its members can benefit in their daily business.

Mark Macus joined Bühler in 2019 as the Group CFO. He is a member of the Bühler Group Executive Board. He graduated with a PhD in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen with an exchange at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Later Mark Macus earned his certification as a Swiss Certified Public Accountant. In addition to Vitra and Bühler, he held management positions at KPMG and the Holcim Group.
