I began my career at Bühler in 2015 when I joined the Minneapolis Apprenticeship Academy. Throughout the apprenticeship, I was able to train with our customer service engineers, attend school and experience many different jobs. The apprenticeship offered me so many new learning experiences and challenges. These experiences and challenges taught me to push boundaries, find opportunities and always listen. Today, I work as an Application Specialist and am really building on the knowledge and skills I gained as an apprentice.
When I was in high school, I did not really know what to do afterwards. I then decided to join the Bühler Apprenticeship Academy in Minneapolis and started my career at Bühler in 2015. It was a big step for me when I decided to do an apprenticeship instead of going to a college or university, because it was something completely different than what all of my friends did. But it was the right decision for me, as I have always been very interested in hands-on work.
When I graduated in 2018, I was given the opportunity to join the Single Machine business unit as an Application Specialist. We are now building up our Application Center in Minneapolis. In this position, I get to work with many different machines, discover new products and methods, and help our customers make important decisions. I hope to grow in this role and utilize what I learned through my training.
Bühler is dedicated to developing people. Sometimes you mess up or get things wrong, but if you show that you are willing to learn from your mistakes, Bühler helps you and lets you overcome it. With the support of Bühler, I really grew as a person.
If I did not have to prove myself and push boundaries, I would not be as ambitious or as driven as I feel I am today.

There are many great experiences and moments I was lucky enough to have had so far. In 2017 I attended the One Young World summit in Bogotá, Colombia, as one of the Bühler delegates. There I met thousands of young leaders trying to make a difference in their companies. Another unique experience I got to participate in was the American Solar Energy Race, in which my fellow apprentices and I drove our solar car across country and took second place.
