Marcel Natterer began his professional career as a design engineer. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the School of Engineering in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and a diploma in Industrial Engineering FH with a major in Marketing from the AKAD University of Applied Sciences in Lahr, Germany.
Following his studies, he worked as a project manager at various engineering companies in Switzerland. In 1998, he joined Hilti AG in Schaan, Liechtenstein, where he gained more than 10 years of experience in executive roles in marketing and product management, including as Director of Marketing for Hilti (Korea) Ltd. and later in segment and channel management.
Marcel Natterer joined Bühler in 2009. He was Head of Product Management and Marketing in the Food Processing division until 2010 and led the business unit Pasta & Extruded Products until 2015. From 2015 until 2022 he was Managing Director of the business area Value Nutrition in the Grains & Food business.
In January 2023, Marcel Natterer was appointed CEO of Advanced Materials.
